Practice owner and principal veterinarian Dr Jacqui McGregor graduated from Queensland University in 1993.
Since graduating, Jacqui has had extensive experience in equine veterinary practice and worked as an associate veterinarian in several major equine hospitals both in Australia and internationally prior to establishing McGregor Equine Veterinary Services in 2012.
Jacqui’s special interests include equine reproduction and lameness and performance horse medicine, and she prides herself on providing personalised, caring and dedicated veterinary care to her patients.
In her younger years Jacqui was a keen rider and competitor and enjoyed training dressage horses and competing her eventer up to 2* level. She has also spent time as a track work rider, and paid her way through university teaching beginners how to ride. Jacqui implicitly understands the unique bond clients share with their horses and the hopes and dreams, time, effort and money invested in this bond. For these reasons Jacqui thoroughly enjoys helping clients optimise their horse’s health and performance right up to the elite levels.
Through her resident stallion, Polanski, Jacqui has an active interest in the thoroughbred industry through both breeding, sales and racing, and is excited to be part of the journey ahead as Polanski’s progeny mature and make it to the racetrack. In conjunction with her husband Simon Lee, the dream is still very much alive to breed, raise and train a champion!
